Although Gustav Klimt was born 163 years ago, he remains one of the trendiest artists in the 21st century — his works appear on millions of gift items, clothes, accessories, and even tattoos. Klimt was a public favorite even during his lifetime, and today, Gen Z TikTokers are just as enthusiastic about him as the refined visitors of Vienna's Belvedere Museum.
On May 19, Gustav Klimt: The Immersive Experience will arrive at the BOK Hall in Budapest. This interactive exhibition uses cutting-edge technology to take visitors deep into the mind and art of the iconic painter. In the 2,000-square-meter exhibition space, a gigantic virtual world brings Klimt’s most important works and fascinating personal story to life. One of the exhibition’s most spectacular features will be a golden tunnel, which will undoubtedly invite visitors to take photos.
The same team that previously brought Van Gogh and Monet exhibitions to Hungary is behind this event as well. Their goal remains to offer visitors an entertaining, visually stunning, and educational experience — meeting Klimt’s world in a 21st-century way, through the use of VR technology.
